Handheld application is offline or not syncing

Symptoms

  • The handheld reports it is offline.
  • Synchronisation or posting fails.
  • The application cannot communicate with the server.

Resolution

Step 1 – Check the Wi-Fi connection

  • Ensure the handheld is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Verify the device has permission to access the network.
  • If permitted, test access to an external website.

Step 2 – Verify the server endpoints

Open a web browser on the handheld and verify that both Discovery endpoints load successfully.

If either endpoint cannot be reached:

  • Confirm the Wi-Fi connection is active.
  • Verify the Discovery server is running.
  • Contact your IT department if the issue persists.
